OTC drugs and food supplements
OTC (Over-the-counter) drugs are safe and well-tolerated medicines used for treatment of conditions that do not require a direct supervision of a medical professional. OTC drugs may be sold directly to a consumer without a prescription. In most countries, OTC status is granted by the local regulatory agency.
Food supplements are preparations containing different nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, fiber, fatty or amino acids used to supplement a person's diet. Some countries define food supplements as food products, while in others they are defined as drugs or natural health products.
